I am sorry for being MIA for a couple of days. I am not going to lie, I have been cheating my blog with the sun and the heat. I have hardly been inside since Friday, when summer decided to arrive and thus it has been hard to motivate myself to sit inside and edit photos (something I usually LOVE to do).

Anyway, here are some snaps from Saturday night when me and my mom returned back from dinner outside in a park, and music surrounding us since the annual "culture night" was happening that night in my city.

The lightening was gorgeous, sort of gave the photos a very magical touch and it also matched the mood of what I was wearing perfectly: a romantic, pearl pink dress from JollyBrands  , which I styled with my new favorite pair of shoes (from &Other Stories) and a pair of sunglasses from GiantVintage

Almost as if though I was on my way to a ballet class outside. And for those of you who have been wondering about the scratch I have on my knee, I fell a couple of weeks back in Stockholm when I was in a hurry and was walking in these exact shoes. Yes, embarrassing and painful.

I got this dress from JollyChic a couple of days ago, and it really seems to be the ideal summer dress, don't you think? It's cute, it moves with the summer breezes and it can work for both days (as I've styled it here) and evenings, with the right combination of accessories and shoes.

On another note, summer really has arrived for real here in the past couple of days, such a heat wave with temparatures very much above what anyone can expect here in May. I am enjoying every second of this pre-summer bliss, and once I do my final assignments for school next week (really, final final, like "never have to do any high school assignments ever again"-final), I will enjoy it even more.

Hope you are all having lovely, hot days as well!

A Blurry Preview

May 16, 2013

You are getting a blurry hint of what it is that I have been wearing today, on this almost-summer day.

Maybe fashion designers should start making a pre-summer collection as well, since I always find myself in that "pre-summer" mood in mid-May/early-June.

This idea obviously comes from a stylist/blogger though, and not someone who actually has to design and make the clothes (aka the designers) since I bet they would throw something really heavy at me if they heard this. As if four to five collections a year, as it is now, isn't enough to make one person insane?

The Minimalist

 Top: Ida Sjöstedt

Skirt: Red Cross Store/second hand

'Rita' Biker Leather Jacket: ACNE

Shoes: & Other Stories

As much as I love myself some color (as you all know), sometimes clean lines and colors such as black and white are what I love the most. I suppose it's the Swedish minimalist part of me that comes out whenever I put on an outfit like the one above.

I don't Want To Be Your Cheerleader

Sometimes I question my styling when I keep finding myself putting together outfits which really are a contradiction to who I am as a person. Like what about this sporty trend I am following like a maniac lately? Sure, I played soccer in elementary school. For a month. And then I was a horse-back-rider for l a couple of years, until a horse threw me off. I have never been on a horse's back since.

My gym teacher told me a year ago that the sport I was good at was lacrosse. Lacrosse. What does that say about someone who has basically no interest in sports? Maybe I was just in a really bad mood that day, when we played lacrosse, and therefore managed to come off as really aggressive.

Anyway, sport or no sport. I do love sporty clothing and this tennis/cheerleader combo is no exception. These were shot about a week ago when we had a day of real heat, almost exactly like a perfect summer's day.

Follow my Styling Portfolio

May 8, 2013

Since I do a lot of styling, both for my blog for and other things, I thought it would be convenient to collect/and keep track of it all in a place where it's easy to get an overview of what my styling looks like and where I can update with new images continually.

So I have now created a portfolio-style Tumblr, where I basically will upload the styling I do. If you're interested in styling/my styling, you should definitely go follow it (yes I am doing some shameless self-promoting here, without shame, woops).

P.S:

I am heading to Stockholm tomorrow morning for a couple of days, amongst other things to pay a visit to the U.S embassy to get my visa, so that I can officially move to the U.S!!

I will probably not bring my laptop, so blog will be a bit slow until Saturday, when I get back. Have a lovely time until then and I promise to have some awesome photos for you people to check out when I get back!

Lightly Dressed

May 7, 2013

 T-shirt: Red Cross Store/second hand

Lace Shorts: American Apparel

Socks: Topshop

/ /

As much as I love my collection of lipsticks, I also really love being make-up free whilst relaxing at home. So this is what a typical spring/summer "Amanda style at home" could look like: a pair of shorts, socks (because my feet get cold) and a washed out t-shirt.

On another note, American Apparel really is my favorite provider when it comes to finding these basics: the shorts, the tops, the sporty socks. All their items are so basic, yet manage to make the most perfect outfits.
