15 Facts About me (video)

March 31, 2012

All right, so it was quite a while ago since I made a video. And since I've gotten quite a lot of requests from you lately of doing another one, I thought I might as well do it. So I spent part of this Saturday having fun and it resulted in a rather silly little video with 15 facts about me. Some new things and some things you maybe knew, some of you at least!

Enjoy!

P.S: SORRY for the bad quality! I hate bad quality but unfortunately that's just the way it is with this video.

Guilty Pleasures

March 28, 2012

Transparent Black Top: Red Cross Store/second hand

Black Denim Studded Shorts: Days in Denim

Creepers: Underground

Guilt? Guilty? Do you ever feel it? Do you ever feel guilty for doing nothing when you are supposed to do 100 things? Do you ever feel guilty when you eat chocolate in the middle of the week? Do you ever feel guilty not cleaning your room when you've said you're going to do it to your parents for the past ten days.

I feel it. I feel all of that. And I am most certain a lot of teenage girls(and boys) feel this often, if not all of the time. We have so many things to do, we have so much pressure to live up to and at the same time we have the worst critic in the world watching and criticizing every move we make, every wrong chocolate piece we take.

I feel guilty when I eat delicious things. Every time I eat something delicious I feel guilty. I have two voices in my head discussing whether or not it is all right for me to eat a piece of chocolate now or not: one that says, "do it, eat it, it's not like you eat this all of the time!", and the other (more destructing) voice:
"No! No don't, you don't want to feel fat!"

Do you recognize this? It's called being a teenage girl in a big, destructing, size 0 world. And that's what some (not mentioning any ages, names, genders...that you will have to insert yourselves) should think about before they say that we are, "shallow, lazy, spoiled, ignorant, silly, young, girls."

We have a lot more going on than what you may see.

Postcards from London

March 26, 2012

Some leftovers from me and my mom's amazing trip to London a few weeks ago. Wow, time just flies by doesn't it?

I am not the one who likes to apologize for my own choices, priorities and behavior because I just think that's diminishing yourself. But I do have to explain myself and my bad blogger-behavior lately:I am just so stressed out, I have tons of things to do in school and with Days in Denim (which by the way won Best Website 2012 at the "Young Companies" awards last week, yay!) and that is why I've been a bad blogger.

I love blogging and I love my blog so I kind of hate it that I have been so bad at taking care of it lately. But when the springy weather is getting more obvious, and my schoolwork will (hopefully)be a little pile instead of a huge pile, I will be better at it.

So I know my ratings aren't the best but I really do wish and hope that you stay!

Because without you, I'm nothing.

xoxo

///

So yesterday was the first day for me and Cornelia working at The Red Cross Store in our city, Umeå. We are volonteering there and we have the main responsibility for "trend" section as well as doing the PR and marketing for them.
It just feels great, doing something for a good cause yet doing something we truly love and have passion for.

Because what we do when we work there every Tuesday afternoon is basically this:

* we go through the clothes at the main store and storage to find these "trendy" pieces, which they later ship off to the more trendy store downtown (Röda Korset City kommer från och med nu varje torsdag/fredag att fyllas med en massa roliga saker som bland annat jag och Cornelia har valt ut, so go check!)

 * we do a shoot with one or two outfits every week, borrowing clothes from The Red Cross which they later also ship off to the city store. So you can basically buy everything I am and will be wearing from The Red Cross.

This we shot in the Red Cross Store , in the book/library section. I kind of love the feeling of getting lost between books.
Kind of like wonderland. Except my name's not Alice.

Just some photos from a day walking around on Brick Lane. Which by the way is the best place to be if you want to find good and crazy/fun second hand shops, like I do.

Oh, how I miss London!

I found this pretty fabulous silver knit when me and Cornelia were visiting the Red Cross store the other week (RÖDA KORSET, KUPAN), which we by the way volonteer for these days as well! More about that later on!

It has the weirdest fabric and it's kind of pretty in an ugly sort of a way, if you know what I mean? Haha, anyway I love it.

The spring is coming to my city and I am feeling more and more keen on going outside and taking photos, so most likely my blog will be more updated soon! Spring and summer are my most creative and effective times, after all.

London Photo Diary: part two

March 13, 2012

 London Photo Diary: Part II

I am wearing my gorgeous, new (but old!) vintage coat from Kupan/Röda Korset/Red Cross Store, Umeå. I am so in love with it, basically wore it all of the time in London.

1. Me during a break from the rain, at the Camden Market. Seriously, if you're going to London...this is a must-visit! We got this tip from one of my mom's London-based colleagues and she was so right: just the weirdest, most awesome place to visit on a Saturday. You will find everything from old cameras, to delicious Chinese food here.

2. Still Camden, they had the most amazing things hanging from the walls of the houses! Feels like walking through a tivoli of some sort. Love the zebra creepers!

3. Me and a classic old English telephone box. I just love them, never remove them London.

4. A delicious box of mixed Chinese food from Camden Market. For only £4 , seriously that's like nothing for the tasty-ness of this food!

5. Fresh oranges at Camden Market.

6. In the afternoon on Saturday, we went to Leicester Square to buy some tickets for the movies later that night. Awesome movies are awesome.

7. My mom in front of that same telephone box, in Camden.

8. Crowded underground trains is something most people hate, I kind of love them. I take that as another reason as to why I should live in a big city.

9. Leicester Square at night. The craziest place, my mom thought it was too crowded. I adored it.

10. Me in the rain. At Camden Market.

11. Random shot at Oxford Street. Blurry ladies' hair in the foreground.
