The West Coast Take One: Black and White

July 31, 2012

I'm back home, Bruce was beyond amazing (honestly, I have NO words to describe the magic that was that night), the West Coast is as beautiful as I remembered it and I have been having a great 4-days-vacation with my family.

Now I'm back in blogging business, so I hope you are back in reading-my-blog business too!

Much love,

xoxo

My Room

July 27, 2012

 First of all, sorry for being MIA the last couple of days. I arranged a "Surprise Day" for my very best friend Cornelia the other day, these photos are by the way shot on that morning, before she arrived and was surprised hehe, hence the cupcakes, because I don't always have fresh cupcakes and a tea pot waiting on my desk...would have been pretty rad yet bad if I had.

But these are just a few shots of my room, because I know some of you have been wanting to see it for some time. A lot of white, because I like white. And a lot of clothes in weird places (like hanging from the lamp), because I like that too.

Now I have to warn you, I'm going be MIA for a few days again...but I have a good reason because tomorrow, ladies and gentlemen, I am going to see Bruce Springsteen live in Gothenburg with my family. SO EXCITED.  I love his music.

And then we're heading on a West Coast tour for three days, but then I will be back. So stay tuned!

And follow me on Instagram: @amandabrohman, becasue I will update that:

Overalls and Sweater: Second Hand

Sunglasses: GiantVintage.Com

Backpack: Target

Shoes: Jeffery Campbell

//

So I am very very busy tonight, because I just am. Lots of things to do even though it's summer and no school work. So that's why I'm just gonna leave these photos with you: wearing denim overalls and a baby pink sweater.

And I'm also gonna post a Spotify Playlist that I originally made last summer but I re-found again now and added some new songs to it, it's called Bad Weather and even though you might not believe me from looking at the photos of above: the weather has frankly been really bad the past days.

So, here we go. Subscribe if you like it, I personally think it's a great mix for rainy, gloomy days (but then again I might be a bit biased because, let's face it, I'm the who put it together so) :

Some samples from it:

 - After The Storm - Mumford and Sons

-  Our July In The Rain - He Is We

- Kiss The Rain - Billie Myers

- In My Veins - Andrew Belle

- Holocene - Bon Iver

- By Your Side - Sade

- I Can Feel A Hot One - Manchester Orchestra

Beautiful World - Carolina Liar

This Years Love - David Gray

...and a lot of more.

Almost Like A Hitchcock Movie

July 22, 2012

 Scalloped Shorts: ShopAkira

Orange Sweater: Romwe

Collar Peeking Out: Romwe

Sunglasses: GiantVintage

So the lightening in these photos along with editing them in black and white made me think of a really old, quite scary Hitchcock movie. However, they are not.

The shorts I am wearing here are from my new-found, new-favourite webshop ShopAkira.Com  , really they have everything. Cute dresses, cute shorts, cool sweaters, trendy shoes (including tons of Jeffrey Campbell's), so well yes...every teenage girl's dream webshop basically. So, do check them out, I really don't think you will regret it.

Have a lovely evening,

Who's To Say?

July 19, 2012

"And you say we're too young,
but maybe you're too old to remember
                                   And I try to pretend but I just feel it when we're together
And if you don't believe me, you never really knew us
You never really knew.
And who's to say that we're not good enough?
And who's to say that this is not our love?"

- Vanessa Carlton, "Who's To Say"

//

Sweater: VILA

Studded Shirt: Romwe

Backpack: Target

Skinny Jeans: Monki

Sunglasses: GiantVintage.com

I absolutely LOVE this song by Vanessa Carlton, and it kind of goes with so many things I think about and reflect over in my life. A time where we, and I mean this "we" as ALL OF US, are so obsessed with finding out things about each other, our friends' friends and even total strangers (celebritites anyone?) that we stop trusting people. We are so busy trying to prove that they are liers, cheaters, fakers that we stop listening to what they're actually saying.

This line in the song describes what I'm trying to say so much better than I apparently do:

Who's to say?
And who's to say?
And who are they anyway?

This also touches on another subject I'm very passionate about and have been writing about on here before. The judging eyes of complete strangers that make you feel like complete sh*t, because they are staring at you for one reason or another, or whispering about you behind your back and you know it, you feel it. I experience this a lot, as I've said before, and it still makes me SO insecure. The judging: of  who you are, who they think that you are, what you wear, what you say and on and on and on. And I know a lot of you readers have experienced the EXACT same things, in fact, most people have at one point or another.  But I am trying to ignore these things and ask myself these very good questions:
Who's to say? And who are they anyway?

(on another note, what I am wearing today: preppy, a bit TOO autumn-y outfit for the summer heat but oh well. I'm not a denim, jeans-wearing girl as you should know by now but I have to admit, I kind of love these skinny black jeans...the only pair of jeans I wear and actually like.)

A Crown Made Of Flowers

July 16, 2012

 Flower Crown/Headband: Curried Myrrh

White Dress: Club Couture

Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell

Sunglasses: GiantVintage.com

//

So one of the best things about being in Montana was the fact that I made some new, fabulous friends and acquaintances while being there. Among them were the store owner of Curried Myrrh, Elizabeth and her daughter. Elizabeth makes the most amazing flower crowns and braided headbands and she was kind enough to give me one from her Summer Collection.
I really recommend you to check her SITE out, and she also told me that she was about to open an Etsy store so it would be easier to buy her creations.

I love mine and I thought it would be best to just pair it with a simple, white dress (a dress/gown I often sleep in, in fact), just so the flower crown would shine on its own.

And isn't the scenery in these photos absolutely beautiful? We have so many fields near my house and right now, in the middle of July, they are filled with flowers of all kinds. I just love summer.

Let's Set The World On Fire, We Can Burn Brighter Than The Sun

July 14, 2012

Sunglasses: GiantVintage.com

Studded White Shirt: Red Cross Store UmeƄ City/second hand

Knitted Sweater: Zara

Skirt: Indiska

Backpack: Target

Platform Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell

//

So it's been a bit chilly here ever since I came back from the U.S, hence topping my outfit with a cozy knit. Layering is not something that I usually am into but for this look it felt like it really worked out.

Also, have you noticed that my hair has gone from brunette/red-ish to more of a bronzed tone? I kind of love it so I'm keeping it like that for a while I think.

Also, if you have any more questions to me, please ask them in the box below and I will answer them all in a VLOG in the upcoming week:

The Plastic Platform And The Colorful Backpack

July 12, 2012

Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell "Suspect" Platforms/Nastygal.com

Backpack: Target

//

So here are some new things. These rad shoes arrived at my house when I was in the States so I tried them on for the first time yesterday and I already love them, I walked around in them downtown for almost 4 hours too, having lunch with a friend and doing some shopping (well, she did, I didn't) and my feet only hurt a tiny bit at the end of the day. So yet again, I salute you Jeffrey Campbell, official provider of awesome shoes for moi since a year ago.

 And the backpack, what can I say? I've never seen myself as the backpack-girl but when I saw this at Target a few days ago I couldn't resist buying it, truly love at first sight. Just LOOK  at the colors, amazing!

What are you peeps up to tonight then? I am going to the movies ,drooling over Andrew Garfield and laughing along with Emma Stone, along with a friend, should be great!
